PlayVoid 2.0 Roadmap: Evolving from a random music player to an indie discovery engine 🚀

by•

Hello again Product Hunt! 🚀

Last month, I launched the MVP of PlayVoid—a tool built to break the algorithmic loop of Spotify/Apple Music by serving completely random 30-second audio snippets with zero latency.

The core engine works flawlessly now. But a product needs to evolve. Instead of just playing random tracks, I am shifting the vision to make PlayVoid a launchpad for undiscovered talent.

Here is what is coming in V2.0:

  • Curated 'Recommended' Sections: Moving beyond pure randomness to highlight specific global underground scenes (e.g., Berlin Tech-House to Tokyo City Pop).

  • Clean Monetization: Experimenting with non-intrusive native ads (like Carbon Ads) and direct indie artist placements, completely avoiding pop-ups that ruin the discovery flow.

  • Smarter Analytics: Tracking which genres have the highest "Dig Deeper" click rates to understand true, unbiased human preference.

I'm currently running some traffic experiments to stress-test the servers. If you are a designer or an indie hacker, drop in and let me know how the current UI feels during rapid, 30-second skips. What features would make you bookmark this for your daily music hunt?
