Launching OTTASIA tomorrow - any last-minute advice for a first PH launch?
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Tomorrow morning OTTASIA goes live - my first ever PH launch and feeling that exact pre-launch mix of excitement and terror.
Quick context:
- Free streaming discovery for 33 Asian countries (think JustWatch, but built Asia-first)
- K-Drama, Bollywood, Turkish, Arabic, anime, Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam cinema as first-class browse categories - not buried under "International"
- Built solo over a few weeks with $0 capital. Stack: Next.js 15 + Supabase + TMDB API + Netlify
- 25 years in IT, avid AI user, co-founder of BrandStori.AI and Flywheelr.com on the day job. This is my first consumer side project.
What I'd love advice on from anyone who's launched before:
1. First-hour upvote strategy - is mass-DMing your network still the play, or has the algorithm shifted to weight something else more heavily?
2. Comment engagement - I'm planning to reply to every comment within 5 min for the first 6 hours. Overkill or about right?
3. Anything specific about the PH crowd that I should know? My target demo is people in Asia frustrated with streaming fragmentation (India, SEA, Middle East), which feels somewhat tangential to the typical PH builder/SaaS audience.
4. Common rookie mistakes to avoid in hour 1?
Will drop the launch link here when it goes live tomorrow morning. Genuinely appreciate any wisdom from PH veterans 🙏
