Launching FlexDropin: book a single gym class, no membership
FlexDropin is an app for booking one gym class at a time, with no membership and no credit packs. It goes live on Product Hunt next week.
Where it came from: our founder trains across several disciplines — Pilates, postural work — and no single gym offered all of them, so committing to one meant dropping the others. I hit the same wall from the other side: I travel for work, and getting into a gym for a single session is usually a phone call, if it is possible at all.
How it works: gyms publish one-off or recurring classes with their own price and capacity and connect Stripe. The customer books and pays in the app, the money goes straight to the gym, and we take a commission only when a class sells. No fixed cost for the gym, which is the only reason a small independent place will try a new channel at all.
The hard part is not the app, it is supply. Every marketplace says this and I now understand why: the consumer side was the easy half.
If you have built something two-sided, I would like to hear how you got the first side to show up. And if you train while travelling, what do you do today?
