Indie hacked my way into Indonesia's biggest dedicated secondhand fashion marketplace

by•

A couple of years ago, my girlfriend and I started Preloved, a secondhand fashion marketplace in Indonesia.

I built the entire thing solo, back when AI wasn't writing your code. Turns out building a marketplace is a lot more than just letting people buy and sell stuff

Payments, escrow, shipping integrations, personalised algorithm/feeds, product recommendations, payouts, fraud prevention, moderation, iOS, Android, web, etc etc. Definitely a bit much for one developer.

Fast forward to today. I'm still the only developer, my girlfriend handles the brand, design, and marketing, but now I've got an army of AI agents working alongside me.

I've been tokenmaxxing like a degenerate, and genuinely feel like we're shipping faster than marketplaces with entire engineering departments.

No VC funding, no engineering team. Just two people competing with companies that have a few more zeros in their budgets.

And somehow, we've ended up with:

  • 730k+ users

  • 1.3 million+ products listed

Turns out messing around and finding out actually works.
