I created an application that converts chaotic meeting notes into follow-up emails.
In the past three months, I've developed Followline, a tiny app that transforms meeting notes into the body of an email, which you then need to polish and personalise. I work alone, and the project came up since I was frequently failing my deals, responding two days after getting them.
The biggest surprise I experienced was the response from early testers. The users valued my fast approach much less than I expected; they were all about the tone. They wanted the draft to sound like me, so I incorporated an option to copy-paste your last three emails, and the system picks up on your tone. This is the first thing users touch when trying Followline.
Now, I don't post on HN to earn some extra votes. I share my experience since I find myself on the fence while making one important decision—to send emails with the help of the app, or leave it a mere draft tool. The former looks riskier but possibly more useful.
Have you faced a similar choice regarding your own product? What helped you to make the final call?
