I built DispatchAI so contractors stop losing jobs to missed calls while they're on the tools

by•

Hi, I'm Ejiro — launching DispatchAI today.

The pattern that pushed me to build this was simple: when a homeowner calls a contractor and nobody picks up, most people don't leave a voicemail. They just call the next name on the list. For a one or two-person shop, that missed call often happens at the worst possible moment — up a ladder, under a sink, or driving between jobs.

DispatchAI is an AI receptionist for contractors that answers missed and after-hours calls 24/7 on the number they already use. A caller can describe the job and send a photo, and the AI drafts an estimate using the contractor's own rates. Nothing goes back to the customer until the contractor approves it, and it never auto-books a job. Voice works from day one, texting follows once A2P registration is complete, and it can handle calls in 7 languages.

The honest hard part has not been getting the AI to answer. It has been trust and owner control. Contractors are rightly protective of their pricing, their calendar, and how someone speaks for their business when they are not on the phone. That is why approval before anything reaches the customer matters more to me than sounding impressive on a demo. We are running it as a 10-day pilot, with plans at $199/mo for 500 minutes and $499 for Enterprise, and there is a live demo if you want to hear how it handles a call.

Today's launch is here:

For contractors and home-service owners here: when a call comes in while you are on the tools, what happens to it right now — voicemail, a callback list, someone else picking up, or is it usually just gone?
