I built an open-source PaaS solo โ and an AI agent can now ship apps on it
Hi PH ๐ I'm Duc, a solo developer from Vietnam.
For the past year and a half I've been building Excalibase, an open-source platform as a service. One project gives you:
Databases: Postgres 15โ17 or MongoDB-compatible DocumentDB, with backups and point-in-time restore
APIs: GraphQL and REST generated from your schema, with permissions per table and role, closed by default
Realtime, storage and edge functions (TypeScript on Deno)
App hosting: deploy any container next to your database, deploy from your CI
The newest part is an MCP server. Connect Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, give it one prompt, and the agent creates the tables and permissions, deploys the app and tests it. 2.5-minute demo:

It's free during beta, or you can run the whole platform on your own Kubernetes.

One honest question: what would stop you from moving a side project onto a platform like this? Every answer helps me decide what to build next.
