I built a way to send money home just by texting — would love your honest take before I launch

by

Hey all 👋

I'm Pratik, building BatuaX (Batua means wallet in Hindi).

People in the US still lose 3–5% and wait days to send money home to family and every "fix" is yet another app nobody downloads.

So I tried the opposite: send money home right inside WhatsApp. No app, you text how much, confirm with a PIN, and family gets it in minutes, straight to their bank account.

Built it solo over the last few months, launching here soon. Before I do, I'd genuinely love this community's take:

  • Does "money inside WhatsApp" feel trustworthy to you, or does it need more reassurance?

  • What would actually make you (or your family) switch from Wise / Remitly / a bank?

Want a ping on launch day →

Roast it, I'd rather hear it now 🙏

This sounds like a really practical take on remittances... texting to send money without another app download is clever. If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon... would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile) to check out The Sponge, an AI flashcard app that turns webpages into study material.

Thanks, really appreciate that 🙏, that's exactly the bet: people already live in WhatsApp, so why make them download another app?

The Sponge looks great too, turning any webpage into flashcards is a clever way to actually retain what you read. Just gave you a follow.

We're launching soon as well, a follow back would mean a lot. Good luck with the launch!
