I built a TikTok unfollowers tracker that never asks for your password

by•

Hi all, I'm Abdul. I made UnfollowKit (), so this is my own product.

TikTok shows your follower count dropping but never tells you who left. Most trackers I tried wanted my TikTok password or a data-export upload, and I wasn't comfortable giving them either.

UnfollowKit works two ways:

- **Scan a public .** It shows who doesn't follow back and, compared with your earlier scans, who unfollowed you. The free scan checks the top 100 of each list. Full "verified" scans and email alerts are paid, and the pricing page spells out exactly what each one covers.

- **Optional Chrome extension.** It reads your own lists inside the TikTok tab you're already signed in to and keeps everything in local storage. If you want, it batch-unfollows at a randomized pace with a stop button. It only asks for the side panel and storage permissions.

I'd really like your take on two things: what would you need to see before trusting a tool like this, and is "who never followed back" or "who unfollowed me" more useful to you?

The "no password, local storage" framing is the right pitch, but it's also the part people can't verify just by reading it — I'd want to see that proven, not stated. Two things would move me from "sounds right" to "I trust it": the extension listed on the Chrome Web Store with its permissions visible (side panel + storage only, like you said, so I can check it myself), and the extension's source open even if the scanning backend stays closed — the part that touches my logged-in session is the part worth being able to read. On your second question: "who unfollowed me" is the one I'd act on. "Never followed back" is mildly interesting; someone I was mutual with dropping off feels like a signal, and that's usually why people go looking for a tool like this in the first place.
