How many hours did you spend on your Mac each day?
I'm building an app to reduce screen fatigue on Mac. Has anyone found something that actually works?
Like many developers and founders, I spend most of my day on my Mac, coding, reading documentation, researching, chatting with AI, and writing.
I've tried eye drops, the 20-20-20 rule, regular breaks, and computer glasses. They all helped, but I kept wondering:
Why do we always have to adapt to our screens? Why can't our screens adapt to us?
That question led me to build an early prototype for myself. Instead of using the same display settings all day, it lets me quickly switch between different screen modes depending on what I'm doing, such as reading, coding, deep work, AI conversations, or winding down at night.
It's still an early prototype, and I'm continuing to improve it. However, it has genuinely helped me feel more comfortable during long days in front of my Mac. I can't say it's the only reason. Around the same time, I also updated my computer glasses, so the combination of changes may have contributed to the improvement.
I'm curious if anyone else has experimented with improving screen comfort.
• What has worked best for you?
• Have you tried any apps, display settings, hardware, or workflows that made a real difference?
• If you spend 3+ hours a day on your Mac, what do you wish existed that doesn't today?
I'd love to hear your experiences and ideas. Your feedback could help shape where I take this product next.

I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this too.
If you spend many hours a day on your Mac:
Do your eyes get tired or dry?
Have you changed anything that actually helped? (glasses, lighting, eye drops, breaks, monitor settings, etc.)
I'd love to hear what has worked for you. I'm always looking for new ideas.
