Event rental businesses

by

I’m validating a micro-SaaS idea for event rental businesses.

The problem I keep seeing is this: when rented furniture or event equipment comes back damaged, incomplete, or in worse condition than expected, documenting it properly, assigning responsibility, and recovering the cost is often manual, slow, and frustrating.

I’m exploring a lightweight tool focused on helping rental operators:

  • record item condition at handoff and return

  • keep clear evidence of item status

  • reduce disputes and back-and-forth

  • cut admin time for small and mid-sized rental teams

I’m still trying to validate whether this is painful enough to justify a dedicated product, especially for businesses that currently rely on spreadsheets, WhatsApp, or general rental software.

If you’ve worked in:

  • event rentals

  • party rentals

  • furniture or equipment hire

  • rental operations

  • event logistics

I’d really value your feedback on a few questions:

  1. Is this a painful enough problem that teams would actually pay for a focused solution?

  2. How do businesses usually handle condition tracking, damages, or missing items today?

  3. What would be more valuable: better evidence, better operational traceability, or an easier way to recover damage costs?

  4. Would you rather use a standalone tool that plugs into your current workflow, or expect this to live inside a larger all-in-one system?

If anyone has direct experience in this space, I’d be happy to learn from you in the comments or by DM.
