A New Series : Accepted Without Reading: The Privacy / Tos : Habit That Shapes Our Digital Lives
Hi everyone,
I've started working on my first Substack newsletter, focused on digital privacy, Terms of Service (ToS), privacy policies, and dark patterns.
Before diving in, I want to leave you with a few questions:
How many of us read the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service before installing an app?
How many of us really know what dark patterns are?
How many of us are trading privacy for convenience and speed?
What if privacy has become the price tag for the digital services we use every day?
These are the questions that inspired this project.
The goal is simple: to break down complex privacy policies, explain hidden design practices, and help people better understand the trade-offs they make online.
Bottom line: Every app takes something. I want to help show exactly what it is.If you're curious about privacy, data collection, user consent, and dark patterns, stay tuned. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

I had a look at your idea, and I think you have the foundation for a strong newsletter. If you ever want feedback on your Substack setup, branding, welcome email, or growth strategy, I'd be happy to share a few ideas.
Notice that you're offering feedback, not immediately selling a service. That feels much more natural and is more likely to start a productive conversation.
@oluwole_zacheus Thank you, Oluwole. I appreciate the feedback.
You're absolutely right. My goal is to start conversations around privacy, consent, and digital transparency rather than simply promote a newsletter. I'm still refining the Producthunt's branding and structure, so I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the setup, welcome email, and growth strategy. Thanks for offering to help.
