Can't believe modern VCs would subject entrepreneurs to lawyers when Seedlegals exists. Can get around a screen, tweak the terms and you're done. All the docs you possibly need.

They actually identified and corrected previous errors made by a legal firm

Pros:

Ease of use, accuracy, great support, cheaper than a lawyer!

Cons:

Will be amazing as they build out support beyond seed round

Thanks for your feedback! SeedLegals also comes with a dedicated team of legal experts on instant chat so you get that one-on-one support too. Before this, the two options were 1) having zero documentation or 2) a full legal pack which would cost anywhere between £2k - £5k - which if you’re raising £20k from your Aunt is a huge chunk of the entire investment! We're trying to find that right balance of sensible costs vs. protecting investors vs. having something respectable to show the next round investors :)

A friend used this for their seed round, but I found that he still needed to understand some basics. Still: really useful.

Pros:

Simple and cheap

Cons:

Still requires understanding of the terms involved in the negotation and some accountancy basics.

Is this just for the UK and, if so, when can us colonials use it in Canada?! :)
It is for UK registered companies for now (the investors can be from anywhere) so we're deciding where to launch next! We'll put you down as a +1 for Canada!
