Second - meeting notes you and your AI can actually use

by
There are plenty of good meeting note apps. Most of them pile on AI features and keep your notes inside their own cloud. Second does less. It records the call on your Mac, transcribes locally, and saves everything as markdown. Speaker labels, custom vocabulary, editable transcripts and persistent memory. Then a CLI and an MCP hand all of that to Claude, Codex or Hermes, so the meeting shows up inside the workflow you already have. $19 once. No subscription.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Gleb. I have client calls most days, across Teams, Meet, Zoom, Slack, sometimes WhatsApp. For about a year my workflow was the same slightly embarrassing loop: record the call, copy the transcript, paste it into Codex or Claude. That's where my actual work happens. It's already connected to my calendar, my email, my repos, Linear. I used to think I needed a better note-taking app. What I actually needed was for the meeting to show up where my agents already live. So Second does less. It records system audio on your Mac, no bot joins the call, transcribes locally, and writes each meeting to plain markdown on your disk. Then a CLI and an MCP server hand that to whatever agent you already use. No AI summaries, no subscription. $19 once, and if you stop using Second the files are still yours. Honest limits: Mac only, 25 languages, and speaker detection is good enough to save time rather than magic. I'd really like feedback from people who live inside Claude Code, Codex or Hermes. What would your agent need from a meeting that it can't get today?
