Hi PH! 👋, Stock option planning is COMPLEX. As startup builders ourselves, we know. There’s tax implications, exercise moments, short term and long term capital gains, Alternative Minimum Tax, and much more. But it IS really important to plan ahead, because it can potentially save you a lot in taxes if your company exits. Especially when that’s a few years from now. That’s why we’ve built the Equity Planner. It can generate, show and compare potential outcomes. It was designed to also help you understand some key concepts of your equity while you’re filling in your information. And it just takes a few minutes to complete. So pop in your stock option details, estimate an exit date and value for your company (no worries, you can play with these values later on 🔮) and select the plans that you would like to compare. The result will be a side-by-side comparison that will give you insight into what these different scenarios could mean for you personally. We’ll save them for you, and then you can edit things later by adjusting the exit date and price, swapping out plans, adding a stock option grant, and much more.
