ScreenMask - Auto-redact sensitive data on screen while presenting

by
Stop leaking sensitive data during screen shares! ScreenMask is a privacy-first browser extension that automatically detects and blurs PII on your screen in real-time. It uses mathematical algorithms (Luhn, Verhoeff) to instantly redact emails, credit cards, banking info, and custom IDs with zero false positives. 100% local processing—your data never leaves your browser. Keep your presentations, streams, and recordings safe.

👋 Hey Product Hunt! I'm Piyush, the maker of ScreenMask. I built ScreenMask out of pure necessity. I noticed that during remote meetings, tutorials, and screen recordings, people were constantly (and accidentally) exposing sensitive data—customer emails in CRMs, API keys in consoles, and personal bank balances. The existing solutions were either too manual (editing videos after the fact) or too aggressive (blurring random 16-digit order numbers because they "looked" like credit cards). I wanted a tool that was smart, automatic, and mathematically accurate. ScreenMask doesn't just use regex. It runs matches through algorithms like the Luhn checksum (for credit cards) and Verhoeff (for identity numbers) in real-time so you get zero false positives. It also runs 100% client-side, so your screen data is never transmitted anywhere. I would love for you to try it out on your next screen share!

  1. What specific data formats or IDs do you/your team struggle to keep hidden during presentation?

  2. Would a "Teams Dashboard" to enforce these blurring rules across an entire company be useful to you?
