Scenario for Blender - Open-source Blender extension for AI 3D, video and textures
by•
Generate 3D, video, PBR materials, audio and images without leaving Blender. Scenario for Blender is an open-source extension (GPL-3.0, 800+ GitHub stars) that imports each result straight into your open scene: a photo becomes a textured mesh at your 3D cursor, a move you describe plays on your rigged character, one line of text blocks out a room, and your camera move comes back as a photoreal shot. One click connects Claude Code, Codex or Cursor too.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Yuzzy from Scenario.
Two weeks ago we open-sourced Scenario for Blender. Our launch posts on X passed 470,000 views and 11,000 bookmarks, and the GitHub repo went past 800 stars, so today we're bringing it to Product Hunt.
Whatever you generate lands in the scene you already have open, at your 3D cursor, ready to rig, light or render. It's built for people who already work in Blender: 3D artists, animators, and previs and film teams.
What you can do from the Scenario tab
Photo to 3D: Drop in a photo and the textured mesh imports at your 3D cursor.
Rig and animate: Rig a character, describe a move, and it plays on the skeleton.
Blockout: Write one line about a room and the greybox layout appears in your scene.
Render Video: Capture your camera move and it comes back as a photoreal shot.
Materials, worlds and sound: PBR texture sets, 360 HDRIs for the World, and speech, music or sound effects for the sequencer.
Works with your agent
Open Agents (MCP) and press Connect. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Claude Desktop can then read your scene and generate into it. Running Python stays off until you allow it.
Install (Blender 5.0 or later)
Turn on Allow Online Access, then add this repository under Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions > Repositories > Add Remote Repository:
Install Scenario from Get Extensions, paste your Scenario API key and secret in the add-on preferences, and press Test connection. Updates then arrive through Blender's own extension manager.
The code is on GitHub under GPL-3.0: https://github.com/scenario-labs/blender-plugin
Generations use Scenario credits, and the Generate button shows the cost before anything runs.
One question for you: which step of your Blender work would you hand over first, modelling, texturing, rigging or the final shot?
Bringing generated assets straight into the current Blender scene is the part that stands out to me. The photo-to-3D and PBR material workflows look especially useful for iteration, and making the extension open source is a big plus. Congrats on the launch!
