The problem I wanted to solve wasn t simply translation. It was uncertainty. An app might say a language is downloaded, but that doesn t necessarily tell you whether translation, speech input, voice playback, phrasebook content, and phonetics will all work offline.
Say checks those capabilities separately, so travelers can find gaps before leaving.
