Savvy Scratch was inspired by a simple frustration: scratch-off players are expected to spend real money while flying blind. Tickets advertise massive prizes, but players usually do not know whether those prizes are still available or whether a game has already become a bad bet. Coming from a background in professional gambling, I knew how much better decision-making gets when you have real data. I wanted to bring that kind of clarity to scratch-off players. The problem I was trying to solve was transparency. Scratchers are often treated like pure luck, but the reality is that the quality of a game can change over time as prizes get claimed. Players needed a way to quickly spot bad games, understand what had changed, and make smarter choices. The process was iterative from day one. I started by working with publicly available lottery data and turning it into something useful. Then I kept refining the product based on what would actually help real people: cleaner data, better logic, simpler design, and a more practical user experience. Over time, that evolved into Savvy Scratch as it exists today.
