My true story, and how i got here.

SafeRoom is something very personal to me.

I like to think of it like personal security. It’s here to protect me like a little digital-bodyguard while I’m on holiday.

I was on holiday about seven years ago in Cape Town South Africa and we had this Airbnb. It was a small apartment. Nothing too flashy but the location was ideal because it was close to all the amenities and not too far from the beach. 

When we got into the apartment we found a piece of paper with the Wi-Fi Codes and me being tech friendly I looked for the router but I couldn’t find it anywhere and just next to the kitchen there was a locked closet. I rightly guessed that the router must be in that locked closet but then it left me with the thought okay that’s in there but what else is in there? 

I could see some wires going in through the Side through a hole but I couldn’t see inside this closet and I didn’t want to break open the door as you know my first thought would be because ultimately that’s a that’s a cost coming back to me but it did make me wonder about the privacy of this holiday. 

I did a visual check around the apartment for the usual places but that was a few years ago and I didn’t have all the information I’ve got now.

About a year ago, this thought popped back into my mind when looking at an old photo from that holiday and I thought to myself “well I know a little bit more now” and I know how to build an app so I got to work on it, and the more I researched the whole subject of travel privacy, the more I wanted to put in as many features as possible into this one tool. 

I wanted this app to be the one solution for a complete piece of mind with regards to privacy. 

So bit by bit, I started to add features and anything I didn’t know, I asked some of my more tech-savvier friends for help on how to implement these upgrades.

I want to know that when I’m staying somewhere, out of the safety of my home, that my privacy is secure and I’m not being watched. My wife my child can have their lovely holiday in privacy without the worry of being recorded or watched without our consent.

I am now confident that SafeRoom is by far one of (if not) the best travel privacy tools on the planet, and my hope is that anyone using it feels just a bit safer when they’re on holiday away from home.

Now, i want to share that same sense of peace with everyone else.
