Seems super cool. What types of music genres does it support? Does it also support non music samples (e.g. speech)?
@mmxgn Hi Emmanouil. Thanks for your support and interest! We currently support Rock, Indie, Pop, Metal, Acoustic, Reggae, Electronic, Hip-Hop/Grime, Orchestral and Jazz. We're also open to requests from the community!
We mainly focus on music at the moment, but we plan to adapt our technology to podcasting and video production at a later date.

@daveronan Hi Dave, thank you for your answer.
My question was more about speech samples in music, e.g. movie quotes as in some ebm/industrial-like genres.
Looking forward to see its podcasting capabilities as well in the future though!
Hi PH! I'm Dave the CEO/CTO of RoEx. We're a university spin-out from the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM) at the Queen Mary University of London.
We're building a music production & distribution platform with a focus on using AI to create professional and balanced-sounding audio content in minutes instead of days. Think Instagram photo filters, but for music production.
The product is aimed at musicians, producers and content creators who have bags of musical talent but don't necessarily have advanced audio production skills or the budget to build a studio. It will enable them to get their content up on platforms like Spotify, Bandcamp and Soundcloud much faster, so their fans can enjoy it.
We're offering it as a freemium service for B2C.
We're trying to get it into to hands of as many musicians, producers and content creators as possible, so we can get feedback on UI/UX and most importantly the quality of the mixes we create.
Our current app isn't as nice looking and snappy as we'd like i.e. it isn't built using React, so it can be a bit clunky at times. However, you should be able to create a mix and listen back to the results without any major issues.
We also have a Youtube playlist of short videos demoing our technology being used to mix different styles of music i.e. Rock, Hip Hop, Pop...(https://www.youtube.com/playlist...)
Really excited to see this product made available to everyone - mixing is such an important part of the music creation process, and this tool will give all musicians access to great mixing capabilities. Congrats on the launch!
@nora_o_donovan Hi Nora, thanks for your support. You can currently mix 10 at once. Do you think being able to mix more tracks at once would be preferred? The more tracks you mix at once, the longer the wait. That's why we suggest you mix in groups first.

Hi @daveronan, this looks really cool. Any tips on how to prep my tracks before I try it out?
Super excited to see RoEx auto mixing coming to life and sounding really crisp! Having worked with Dave previously, I have some idea of the complexity of the auto mixing problem, and I love this product because it abstracts this from the user, allowing artists/influencers/producers etc to focus on the creative and turn around awesome sounding projects much faster. Congrats Dave and RoEx team on brilliant achievement!
@eddie_boyd Thank you Eddie for your support. Looking forward to catching up at some point.

Wow! Amazing... I'm feeling like a DJ... yo yo :) Although, the design doesn't look modern but I personally like the simplicity. Pricing seems high but I wont comment as you know your market better than me. I just want to understand the AI bit as you mentioned in the description. To me (so far as I tried it), the product looks like a mixer that is controlled by the person. Where have you used the AI?
I may be having more suggestions and feedback later on. But that's all for the time being.
Congratulations on the launch.
@naveed_rehman Hi Naveed! Yes, it definitely needs a bit of nice design. It's a V1, so we're hoping the next one will smash it out of the park in that respect. The AI decides the best settings for volume, panning, eq and compression, so you get a balanced and professional sounding mix. Do you think we should give the user less or more control?
Report
@daveronan Now I understand that. Regarding control, ideally, users should be able to select what they want "AI" or "Manual". The latter would be useful for power users. However, as its V1, I would suggest you to go with it. However, try to learn more about your users. If you find a couple of power users with this requirement, take a leap.
