Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out Rmusic! 🎉 I built this because I wanted a lightweight desktop music player that doesn't hog resources like Electron-based apps. As a developer, I was frustrated with bulky players that take forever to load—especially for cross-platform use. The problem? Finding a simple, fast tool for local files and online streaming without compromises. My approach evolved from experimenting with Tauri 2 (loving its Rust + web tech combo) to integrating Vue 3 for a smooth UI and Rodio for reliable audio. Early tests were rough (audio sync issues!), but iterating with community feedback on GitHub refined it into what you see today. What's your go-to music player, and why? Share your thoughts—let's discuss! 🚀

@arcangel_nvox Thank you for bringing this up. Rmusic is a free, open-source project developed by an independent creator (me). The complete source code is publicly available on GitHub for anyone to review and verify.

The installer is built directly from this source and contains no malicious code. It's common for smaller, independent software to occasionally trigger false positives in one antivirus engine (as seen here with VirIT), while all others — in this case, the other 67 engines — report it as clean.

The project is fully transparent, and you're welcome to check the code or build it yourself. Thanks for your support.
