This started as a joke. I said someone should build an alarm clock you have to pay to turn off. Then I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I built it.
How it works: you set an alarm and put $1 $500 on the line. When the bell rings you have five seconds to prove you're awake. You pick how, when you set it: tap a button, type a word, or do arithmetic. Beat it and the hold dissolves and your card is never touched. Sleep through it and the house keeps your stake.
There's no undo and no snooze.
