RibbonDiff - Mac-native diff for text, files, and Git history

RibbonDiff is a Mac-native diff app for comparing and editing text, files, and Git-backed version history. Two editable panes update live while a visual ribbon links matching change blocks, helping you review code, docs, config, logs, and AI edits.

Hey Product Hunt - I'm Rei, the maker of RibbonDiff. I built RibbonDiff because I wanted a diff tool that stays useful while I'm still editing. A lot of compare tools are good at showing changes, but awkward once you want to keep refining the content. RibbonDiff is a Mac-native diff app with two editable side-by-side panes, live updates, and a visual ribbon that links matching change blocks so larger edits are easier to follow. It works well for code, docs, config files, logs, and AI-assisted edits when you want to verify what changed before moving on. Version 4.0 adds Workspace for reviewing related files together, plus Version History for comparing against Git-backed revisions inside the app. RibbonDiff is free to download, and Pro unlocks file workflows, Workspace, and Version History. I'd especially love feedback on whether the ribbon helps you scan big diffs, whether Workspace and Version History fit your review flow, and what you still miss from your current tool. Thanks for checking it out - I'll be around in the comments.

Thanks so much for checking out RibbonDiff.

A small hotfix update is coming soon: v4.1.1 improves Workspace sidebar stability, including Finder folder drag-and-drop into the Workspace sidebar, even when RibbonDiff isn't the frontmost app. It also fixes a sidebar toggle issue that could affect comparison redraws and center ribbon rendering.

Appreciate everyone trying RibbonDiff and sending feedback. These details really help make the app smoother.
