Rhythm Rider - Drive with Rhythm: turn finger taps into real drum beats

by
Turning finger taps into real beats. Inspired by road trips in Canada, we wanted to combat the monotony of long drives and the drowsiness that comes with it. With Rhythm Rider, stay engaged and alert while expressing your creativity.

1 min pitch here! https://bit.ly/rhythm-rider-1min We're a team of Singaporean University students that went to Canada and got exposed to the long drives that are common here, either for work or for road trips. We noticed that these long travels cause the driver to get drowsy, even if upbeat music is playing. We thought hard about how to keep drivers engaged while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Rhythm Rider was the perfect solution. Many drivers, felt that tapping was something they naturally already did, so we thought why not convert those taps into real beats. We did our research on Applied Ergonomics and noticed that this also served as a secondary motor task that would heighten alertness. Many friends and family gave feedback on safety. As a result, we added safety features like standy-mode, which mutes the drumming when turning or parking. We've made a prototype that has a pressure sensor to produced different drum beat volumes. It connects with iOS and andriod and car speakers. In the near future, we plan refine and film it when we're ready. This is a work in progress, and we value your feedback. We'd really appreciate an upvote to keep us motivated in building this!

Looks sick. Totally a Tesla sorta thing. Read that you guys already have a prototype. Hope to see the real product soon!

am a drummer myself and always found myself tapping on the steering wheel on long drives. Cool stuff :)
