We built Retrievall after repeatedly seeing AI systems in medicine, law, and finance make confident decisions based on unreliable, fragmented, or outdated information. Even the best models were hallucinating citations, relying on scraped web content, or missing critical evidence—not because the AI was weak, but because the knowledge layer was broken. High-stakes domains require verified, structured, and continuously updated sources, yet no infrastructure existed to provide this reliably to machines. Retrievall solves this by giving AI systems direct access to trusted, licensed, and curated knowledge, so they can reason on real evidence instead of approximations.
