This is great! Helps massively because it has been a real struggle finding culturally relevant & high quality African stock photos for campaigns. I am so excited for this. It will make my work so much easier.

Congratulation @thetaeo! How did you source and build this network of African creators?

@nirnimes Building Retna's network of African creators alongside my co-founders, Charles Eke and Temi Olateru, has been a blend of leveraging our experience and trying fresh approaches. Here's how we've grown: Using Our Contacts: We have years of experience in design, marketing, and tech. We started by reaching out to our contacts in these industries. We asked them to tell their friends and colleagues, creating a ripple effect. Success of Nigerianmockups.com: We had previously launched a site providing design mockups from Nigerian cities. It was a big hit. This success showed there was a huge interest in genuine African content. Many creators saw what we did and wanted to join us on our new project. Making Onboarding Simple: When we started Retna, we wanted it to be easy for creators to join. Instead of having them upload photos themselves, we let them send us Google Drive links. We did the rest. This hands-on approach helped us grow quickly at the start. Reaching Out Directly: We didn’t wait for creators to find us. We actively looked for them on popular platforms like Instagram and Twitter, and on other image-sharing sites. We talked to them directly, telling them about our goal to create a unique African stock image site. This direct approach built trust and made creators feel they were part of something special. With these steps, and more, we're hoping to ensure that Retna continues to grow as the go-to platform for African creatives. Help us share our mission!
