Is zero-click search changing how brands get discovered?

A zero-click search happens when users get the information they need directly from search results without clicking through to another website.

Zero-click searches accounted for 60.45% of Google searches in 2024, rising to 68% in early 2026.

This means a growing share of search activity ends within Google's ecosystem, whether through AI-generated answers, featured snippets, knowledge panels, or other search experiences.

For brands, this raises an interesting question about discovery. A user might encounter a brand in an AI Overview, remember it, and search for it directly later. That initial interaction may have contributed to discovery, even if it never generated a website visit.

As search behavior evolves, the relationship between impressions, visibility, and clicks is becoming more complex.

Are you noticing a gap between how often your brand appears in search and the traffic it receives?
