Hey Product Hunt! I'm the maker of RepoClip. I built this because I kept seeing amazing open source projects with zero visibility. Developers spend months writing great code, but a plain README just doesn't grab attention the way a video does. The problem? Making a promo video takes hours of scripting, recording, and editing — time most developers would rather spend coding. RepoClip solves this in under 5 minutes. Paste your GitHub URL, and AI handles the rest — analyzing your code, writing a script, generating visuals, adding narration, and rendering a polished video. The stack behind it: Next.js, Gemini for code analysis, Flux for image generation, OpenAI for narration, and Remotion for video rendering. Try it free (2 videos/month, no credit card needed) and let me know what you think. I'd love your feedback on the video quality and any repos you'd like to see turned into videos!

Hey! This looks like a super useful tool for showcasing projects, but I’m a bit hesitant about the GitHub permissions.

When I tried to connect, it asked for read and write access to all my public and private repositories. Since RepoClip just needs to analyze the code to make a video, why does it need write access? Also, is there a way to limit access only to specific public repos instead of my entire account?

Would love to try it out, but I’m a bit cautious about the security side. Thanks!
