My co-founder and I were affected by unfair employment contracts. When we heard about recent legal changes being introduced in the UK, we immediately felt drawn to the idea of helping people keep their contracts up to date while relying on a consistent source of legal updates. The problems we aim to address include contract monitoring and automation, the high cost of legal services, and the difficulty of understanding complex legal language in a way that is relevant to an individual’s specific situation. For example, entry-level lawyers typically charge £100–£200 per hour. Our application helps reduce this barrier by identifying potentially non-compliant or problematic clauses in both new and existing contracts, tracking all contracts in one place, and reducing the need for manual legal review and expensive consultations.
