Why I Built ReadBuddy A few months ago, I was sitting on the couch reading with my son Marcus. Like many parents, I want him to love books. So we read together often — picture books, early chapter books, bedtime stories. But I kept noticing something. Marcus could finish a book… yet when I asked a few questions about the story, sometimes he struggled to explain what really happened or why characters made certain choices. And as a parent, I realized something else: Coming up with good reading questions is actually hard. Good questions take time and energy. After a long day of work, it isn’t always easy to think of thoughtful questions that help a child go deeper into a story. I started wondering: What if there was a simple tool that could help parents do this instantly? What if every book could come with engaging questions that help kids think, imagine, and understand the story better? That idea became ReadBuddy. ReadBuddy is an AI-powered reading companion designed to help children build stronger reading comprehension — one book at a time. All you need to do is take a photo of a book cover, and ReadBuddy generates thoughtful questions that spark conversations and deeper thinking. But the bigger vision goes beyond just questions. My hope is that ReadBuddy becomes a trusted companion for young readers — something that encourages curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading.
