Would you choose an open-source CRM over a SaaS CRM?

I’ve been thinking about how much control businesses actually want over their CRM.

With SaaS CRMs, you get convenience, but you’re also tied to their pricing, infrastructure, roadmap, and data policies. With an open-source, self-hosted CRM, you get much more control and flexibility, but you also take on more responsibility.

Now that AI is becoming a major part of CRM workflows, I’m curious where people stand.

Would you choose an open-source, self-hosted CRM with AI capabilities over something like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho?

What would be the biggest deciding factor for you — data ownership, customization, cost, AI capabilities, integrations, or ease of use?
