Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Query because every knowledge tool I tried required an account, a subscription, or sent my notes to someone else's cloud.
Query is different: it's a web app that runs entirely in your browser. Open the site, start saving cards, and everything stays on your device. No signup. No server. No tracking.
What you can do with it:
⚡ Capture text instantly — Save snippets, ideas, quotes, research notes as cards.
🔒 Stay 100% local — Your data lives in your browser's storage. Nothing leaves your device.
🔍 Search in real time — Full-text search across all your cards, instantly.
🗂️ Organize with profiles — One profile for work, one for studies, one personal — keep contexts clean.
🔗 Share peer-to-peer — Send a whole profile to someone via direct WebRTC connection. No upload, no middleman.
✏️ Rich formatting — Bold, italic, colors, highlights — keep your notes the way you want them.
🧩 Optional Chrome extension — For one-click capture from any page, but the web app is the heart of the product.
Query is free and open source. No premium tier, no upsell.
A note on how I built this:
I'm not a developer — Query was built with the help of Claude. I had a clear vision of what I wanted (a local-first, no-account knowledge tool), and AI helped me turn it into real, working code. I'm sharing this because I think it's worth being transparent: the product is real, it works, and it's genuinely useful — even if I'm not the one who wrote every line.
I'd love your feedback — what would make Query a better daily tool for you? 🙏
