Why a CS student spent nights building a minimalist sanctuary for sacred texts
Hi Product Hunt community! 👋
I’m a senior Computer Science student based in Turkey. Like many of you, I value focus and minimalism in my digital life.
When I looked for apps to read sacred texts or daily verses, I was frustrated. Most were cluttered, visually overwhelming, and filled with loud, inappropriate ads that break the very peace the reader is seeking.
So, I decided to build Qitz. It’s my attempt at creating a "digital sanctuary"—a purely minimalist reader with 16 languages, careful typography, and a True Dark Mode. I spent my final year stashed away in my room, coding this solo using Flutter and Riverpod.
As I prepare to launch officially in 17 hours, I’d love to hear from this amazing community:
How do you approach minimalism in UI/UX without making the app feel "empty"?
For fellow solo devs, what was the most surprising challenge you faced during your first global launch?
I’m nervous but excited to share Qitz with you all tomorrow! 🚀
