PZip.net Compression - The most powerful compression on Earth

by•
Silicon Valley was one of my favorite shows and I used to think Pied Piper and their compression algorithm was cool but unrealistic. It turns out I was wrong. I just invented the REAL PIED PIPER and launched PZip.net It turns out the solution was USA + Russia -> Shannon + Kolmogorov. These are the two greatest minds in math history but because of the cold war, they didn't really interact. If they did, they would have worked together and discovered PZip. PZip is FREE for public use!

PZIP is a modern compression tool built for the files we actually ship today—Office Files, PDF's, Images, JSON, CSV, logs, code, and structured artifacts—not just generic byte streams. Instead of “one algorithm for everything,” PZIP: 1. Detects the file type 2. Selects from a library of specialized strategies 3. Extracts structure first, then compresses the residual Why it matters General-purpose compressors are great… until your data has structure they don’t exploit. PZIP is designed to turn that structure into real savings—especially for developer and data workflows. Key features 1. Structure-aware compression for common real-world formats 2. Automatic strategy selection (no tuning required) 3. Never-worse guarantee (won’t inflate files) Local-first + developer-friendly Open-source (so you can verify, fork, and extend) coming soon Who it’s for 1. Developers shipping logs/artifacts 2. Data engineers managing large volumes of storage and transferring 3. Infra teams paying storage + bandwidth bills Anyone who wants “Pied Piper vibes” with real tooling :) Try it now: https://www.pzip.nett
