What makes you trust a secondhand listing enough to buy?

Two listings for the same used console can leave you with very different levels of confidence. One says “excellent condition.” The other shows the worn corner, names the included cables and tells you which functions were tested.

That second seller has given you something you can actually evaluate—even if their item has more wear.

I’m building PUPMKT, an evidence-first resale marketplace, around that distinction: photos of the actual item, identifying details, condition and what’s included. We’re sharing our launch on Product Hunt today.

The hard product question is how much documentation to ask for. Too little leaves buyers guessing. Too much makes listing a chore, especially for someone selling a $20 item.

What’s one detail that has made you buy - or walk away from - a secondhand item?

I’d especially like to hear from sellers: what do buyers repeatedly ask you that the listing should have answered already?
