PromptCam - MacOS secret teleprompter - FREE: Read script to your screen, screen recorder don't see.

by
Read your script while recording your screen, your audience sees nothing. PromptCam is a macOS teleprompter that uses Apple's screen recording protection API, making it completely invisible to Loom, QuickTime, Zoom, OBS, and any other screen recorder. Your viewers will never know you're reading from a script. Activate Notch Mode to shrink the prompter into a tight strip sitting right below your camera, your eyes stay near the lens, your screen stays uncluttered.

I built PromptCam because I kept struggling with the same problem: I wanted to record my screen while reading from a script, but every teleprompter app would show up in the recording. I'd either have to memorize everything or ruin the take. The idea came from a single macOS API "setContentProtection" which makes a window completely invisible to screen capture. Once I found that, the rest followed naturally: put the teleprompter there, add a notch strip mode so it sits right under the camera, keep it minimal and fast. The notch mode was the most satisfying part to build. The MacBook camera notch is usually wasted space, PromptCam turns it into a reading position that naturally keeps your eyes near the lens.
