I m building ProMatte, a free, GPL-licensed OBS filter for removing, blurring, or replacing webcam backgrounds locally.
I started it because existing options can require an RTX GPU, a subscription, a green screen, or cloud processing. ProMatte runs on the user s own machine with no account, telemetry, or uploaded camera frames.

What do you currently use for background removal?
Is performance, edge quality, hardware support, or setup the biggest issue?
Do you prefer transparent backgrounds, blur, or replacement backgrounds?
