I used to get a lot of downloads from non-US countries but almost no conversions (subscriptions, in-app-purchases). It turns out the purchasing power in those countries is lower than the US. App Store converts your US prices to other currencies using the currency exchange automatically but it doesn't take into account the purchasing power parity. PriceEqualizer app does this automatically for all countries in the App Store (175 of them) automatically and based on purchasing power parity factors from the World Bank.
