Why does Windows still make dragging files between apps feel this annoying?

by•

I got tired of dragging files around, Alt+Tabbing between windows, and dumping temporary stuff on the desktop just so I could use it somewhere else.

So I built Pouchy — grab a file, shake your mouse, and a little shelf appears.

Park it there → switch apps → drag it back out wherever you need it.

It started as that one interaction and somehow turned into:

• shelves
• quick actions
• screenshots
• clipboard history
• themes
• Explorer integration
• a tiny mascot

I’m launching it on Product Hunt tomorrow and would love some feedback before it goes live.

Does the “shake → park → drop” idea immediately make sense to you?

And what would you use something like this for?
