@dotenvorg, thanks for noticing, and absolutely agree that this is an interesting and worthy problem! We built out the initial CLI inspired by dotenv with a distinct need to separate the application process from managing the source of environment variables. We came to the same conclusion on improving the usability through a centralized service to allow teams to manage and share environment variables beyond local sources. As print-env is a relatively agnostic CLI, let us know if you're interested in collaborating with us on enabling dotenv-vault to be an alternative provider of the CLI, and/or similarly Portunus as an alternative source for dotenv.
