portex - A public HTTPS link for localhost, with the name you choose

by•
portex gives the server on your laptop a public HTTPS address. Install, sign in with GitHub or Telegram, run portex http 3000. Add -s myapp to pick the name. It lasts while your tunnel is open — made for demos and webhooks, not hosting.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Xasan, a software engineer from Uzbekistan. A few years ago I got curious how ngrok and jprq work and built my own — ChatGPT had only just come out, so I wrote all of it myself in Python. Recently I asked Claude Code to rewrite it in Rust. It runs over QUIC now, and the CLI is under 4 MB instead of 87. But I didn't feel the same buzz as when I wrote it myself. What it does: one command gives the server on your laptop a public HTTPS link. Sign in with GitHub or Telegram, add -s myapp, and you get myapp.portex.uz while your tunnel is open. It's free and open to everyone — try it and tell me what breaks.
