Hi Product Hunt, I'm Ayas, the maker of Popkorn. I've always thought CSS is great at describing animations, but it's tied to the browser. So I built Popkorn as a new animation format that uses CSS syntax, with interactivity and state machines built in for modern use cases. Popkorn doesn't use a webview or the DOM. It has its own runtime, and the format only looks like CSS. While building it, I found that LLMs already know CSS very well, so they can generate Popkorn animations from scratch with good results. From there, we added: - Import for SVG and Lottie files, so you can bring in your existing assets and edit them in Popkorn - Export to Lottie, GIF, and MP4, so you can use what you create the same way you do today, without needing the Popkorn runtime Popkorn is open source, and it's free to use with your own agent through MCP, or with your own API key.
