Pomodoro Timer App - Simple Pomodoro timer that "forces" you into flow state

by
A minimalistic pomodoro timer that you can use right away - no sign-up needed. The timer enforces work intervals (no pause button) and tries to get you to commit to your next work session after a break with voice notifications and "social pressure".

Hi Product Hunters! it has always been my goal to launch something on ProductHunt. I just was not finishing my products, so I would be able to launch them. So I decided that I need to A) become more productive and B) develop a relatively simple product that one can launch as a solo make with little coding experience. Pomodoro Timer App is a combination of both these things ❤️‍🔥. I have used the pomodoro technique on and off for a few years and I think it is a great technique to get things done (if you have something focused to work on which does not require you to work in a team). But all the pomodoro timers out there were not really what I was looking for. I wanted - Simplicity - No Spotify integration, fancy backgrounds etc. - Accountability - A timer that "forces" you to complete your pomodoro, take a break and then makes you commit to the next interval. I noticed that I need 2-3 pomodoros to get in a flow. Once I break them, I can get A LOT of stuff done - Design - I am not a designer, but I want something that looks a bit different from what is out there (And that is the reason for this crazy color decision) You can use the app without signing up and it is totally free. I intend to keep it that way. For now, the costs of running it are quite low. I might add some advanced features in the future, but it's a hobby project for now. A little background on the tech and how it was built: I started learning Ruby on Rails a few years ago, along with some JavaScript. I am a self-taught developer with a non-tech background. New hot frameworks like react, next etc. came up the next few years and I always felt that my skills are not good enough to launch my own products. But listening to makes like @levelsio I realized I can build some decent products with what I already know. So this app is built on Ruby on Rails with mainly vanilla JavaScript and CSS on top. I love how independent you are from any third-party libraries and how I am able to understand all the code of my application 😂. With the help of Github CoPilot and ChatGPT I can finally get the support I need to create some real applications. So, I present to you the Pomodoro timer app. Features I'm thinking of adding: - Statistics and Reporting - Goal setting (# of pomodoros, streaks), maybe with some social pressures (like texting your mom or something along those lines) - A simple kanban board for organizing your work Please let me know what you think! And if you have any idea for new features, send them to me. I will probably build it 🥸
