Plume-AI - Bring your AI models directly into any text field on the web

I'm a French developer working for an international company. Because my team is distributed all over the world, I spend most of my day writing in English across Slack, Jira, emails, and pull requests. I was losing my mind constantly context-switching: copying a draft, opening a new tab, pasting it into ChatGPT to fix my grammar or tone, and pasting the result back. I wanted something that stays out of the way until I need it, so I built Plume-AI. It’s a Chrome/Firefox extension that brings AI-powered grammar checking, rewriting, and translation directly into whatever text box you're already typing in. I wanted to keep it completely independent from subscriptions and data-scraping, so here is how it works: - You can connect your own API key (Gemini, Claude, OpenAI, Mistral) OR run it 100% locally with Ollama. - Privacy-first: If you use an API, the extension automatically strips out PII (emails, phone numbers) before sending the text. - Native explanations: It explains your grammar mistakes in your native language, which is super helpful when you're trying to actually improve, not just let the AI do the work.
