Hey Product Hunt ๐Ÿ‘‹

I built Pliny as a simple private study log for people who like learning on their own.

You can use it to track books, articles, videos, courses, or study sessions โ€” without accounts, streaks, leaderboards, or social noise.

Itโ€™s free, open source, and local-first, so your data stays on your device.

I made this because I wanted a calmer way to see what Iโ€™ve been learning over time.

Would love to hear what you think :)

how does sync work if itโ€™s local-first, do my logs stay on my device only or can I push them somewhere else?

ย right now, everything stays on your device. you can export your data as a json file anytime for backup or to move it to another device, then import it there. no cloud or account required.

the local-first approach without any accounts feels like exactly what a study log should be. love that there's no ai in the loop, just a clean place to actually track what you're learning.

ย thank you! that was exactly the goal. i wanted a simple place to record learning without notifications, ai, or anything getting in the way. ๐Ÿ™
