Hey Product Hunt! The idea for Pimple Pop 3D actually started as a technical challenge. I was playing around with the TrueDepth camera (the tech that powers Face ID) and realized how incredibly detailed the 3D meshes of our faces actually are. As a developer, I thought: "What’s the most satisfying, and slightly gross thing I could do with a 3D model of my own face?" The answer was pretty obvious. What’s happening under the hood: Real Scans: It’s not a generic head. It uses your actual geometry, so when you’re "interacting" with a pimple, it’s sitting on your nose or your chin. Physics-Based Squeezing: I spent much time making sure the pressure felt "right" when you pinch the screen. It’s a mix of haptic feedback and vertex displacement to get that perfect reaction. Total Privacy: I know face data is sensitive. That’s why everything, the scan, the rendering, the "popping" happens locally on your iPhone. Nothing ever leaves your device.
