We built a zero-trace communication tool by accident. Now we’re launching it next week.
Hey Product Hunt! 🚀
Next Friday, we are officially launching Pigeon Link. Let’s clear something up right away: this is NOT just another communication app.
Unlike traditional messengers that force you into a closed app ecosystem, track your metadata, and demand your phone number—which has basically become a universal tracking cookie—Pigeon Link is a browser-native framework where conversations start instantly, between anyone, anywhere, without barriers.
You click once, get an ephemeral 3-word ID, and you are communicating. No names, no emails, no phone numbers, and absolutely no signups.
Honestly? We didn't actually set out to build a commercial product. The whole thing started as a happy accident.
A close friend needed a completely private, zero-trace way to connect without jumping through the usual corporate tracker traps. So, we rolled up our sleeves and built a custom tool to solve that exact problem.
The solution came first, and then the product. The moment it was up and running, a lightning bolt struck us. We looked at what we’d built and realized, "Wow, this isn't just a clever fix for one person. This could help so many different sectors and solve so many everyday problems."
Whether it’s a journalist protecting a source, a young lady contacting a date for the first time, an expat struggling to contact family, a charity supporting individuals craving anonymity, or just regular people tired of being tracked online, the need for effortless privacy was everywhere.
So we pushed on. We engineered the entire payload using highly maintainable multi-solution technology, layering in secure text messaging, group chats, video, and live rooms. But we went to extreme technical depths to make sure all these bells and whistles didn't ruin the original "accident." Your conversations quite literally never touch our servers—we use peer-to-peer data wormholes and local device tech so that your interactions are completely encrypted and entirely off-grid. Even if we wanted to hand over your data, we couldn't. We simply don't have it.
We go live next Friday. If you believe that your phone number shouldn't be a requirement just to have a secure conversation, we’d love your support.
