Persephone is a Windows notepad replacement for developers. Built with Electron and Monaco Editor, it adds a JS/TS scripting engine that transforms content directly. Features: JSON/CSV grids, Markdown preview, PDF viewer, REST Client, built-in browser with Tor, and an MCP server letting AI assistants drive the UI. Open source and extensible via Node.js.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Andriy, the creator of Persephone. I started this project because I wanted a simple notepad that could also handle my daily developer tasks — viewing JSON, running quick scripts, inspecting API responses — without opening VS Code or a dozen browser tabs. What started as a basic text editor grew into something much more: Monaco Editor (the same engine behind VS Code) with 50+ languages Script executor — write JS/TS that transforms your page content directly Grid editors for JSON/CSV with sorting, filtering, and Excel copy-paste Built-in browser with Tor support, bookmarks, and network request logging REST Client for testing APIs MCP server — AI assistants like Claude can create pages, push content, and run scripts through Persephone The MCP integration is what excites me most — it turns a simple notepad into an AI-driven workspace where Claude can display results, diagrams, and data grids directly in the app. Persephone is open source (MIT), free, and built for Windows. I'd love to hear your feedback and ideas! GitHub: https://github.com/andriy-viyaty...
