šŸ‘‹ Hey Product Hunt! šŸ† Today we're excited to introduce Patchwork to the world. Now you can share anything online just by highlighting text. Never send a link again! šŸ§‘ā€šŸ’» We came up with the idea for Patchwork after seeing how boring sharing online content can be. How often do you find yourself reading something online and have the thought, "I know somebody that would love to read this," but the only way to share with them is to send the link? That link has no context and doesn't excite you at all! 🤯 The solution? Patches! Patches are snippets of text that let you share where it matters. Highlight text ANYWHERE, find a friend, and send it through your browser. Patchwork is a Chrome extension so it seamlessly integrates into your daily life. Chat, share, and interact without ever leaving the page. Try it for yourself today!

Love the UX and agree with the need. Curious -- are you primarily targeting b2b? Small teams using it internally? I get that the plugin can work for individuals, but I'd need both sides to install the plugin. It is easier to get everyone to install within a team. Also, are you planning any integrations -- posting into Slack, WhatsApp Web from within the webpage? Regardless, Congratulations and best of luck!

@kirank5a Thanks Kiran! We're currently testing Patchwork in a lot of different use-cases. We think that there's definitely potential for it to be used in the work environment, but also for individuals. We'd love to hear if you find a use-case where it works really well! Also, integrations with Slack and other web apps would be really interesting and it's something we're actively exploring! Thanks so much for your feedback!

Interesting idea! And great execution!) Can you please tell me about compatibility? Does it work with desktop messengers, or email, or messenger open in browser?
Jackson Ensley
@make_good Hey! Right now Patchwork only works on Desktop for Chrome, and it's its own standalone messenger that lives inside your browser. We're excited to explore a mobile app soon as well ;)
